My name is Mark Murphy, and I’m the Founder of Beacon Cyber Defense — a cybersecurity and AI technology risk consulting practice dedicated to protecting the organizations that serve their communities.

I’ve spent more than a decade working in cybersecurity, incident response, digital forensics, SIEM engineering, and AI governance. Today, I support enterprise-level detection engineering, threat hunting, and the development of IR playbooks trusted by global teams.

With two Master’s degrees — one in Digital Forensics Science (Champlain College) and another in Information Security Management (Colorado Technical University) — my background has always centered on one mission:

Helping good organizations stay safe in a world of rapidly evolving threats.

I started Beacon Cyber Defense because small teams, nonprofits, ministries, and community organizations deserve the same level of protection as large enterprises. But most don’t have the staff, budget, or in-house expertise to build an AI-safe, modern cybersecurity program.
